Tamang heritage trek is a newly opened trekking destination into Tamang habitat of Nepal. This fascinating trek is filled with adventure, natural scenery and cultural touch. This trekking route covers culture, religion and daily lifestyle of Tamang community of Langtang region. It is of total 9 days trekking including 1 day rest. It is a combine camping, home stay and lodge trekking package. Throughout our journey we will be rewarded with outstanding views of the Himalayas and get acquainted with the culture and traditions of the Tamang who live in close vicinity to the mighty Langtang.

Tamang heritage trek starts with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabru besi and then trekking all the way to some of the best scenic and cultural villages around. The "Tamang Heritage Trail" is the newly developed tourism product, off the beaten track, which highlights an ancient lifestyle combining it with picturesque scenery and healing baths in natural hot spring. Commence this fascinating trek and enjoy the classis route filled with mighty Himalayas view and nature blessed areas.

Outline Itinerary

Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,610 m).~ 7-8 hours drive

Day 02: Trek from Syabrubesi to Gatlang (2,238 m) via view point.~ 5-6 hours walk

Day 03: Trek from Gatlang to Tatopani (2,607 m).~ 5-6 hours walk

Day 04: Trek from Tatopani to Thuman (2,338 m) via Nagthali (3,300 m).~ 6-7 hours walk

Day 05: Trek from Thuman to Briddim (2,239 m).~ 6-7 hours walk

Day 06: Trek from Briddim to Syabrubesi (1,610 m).~ 4-5 hours walk

Day 07: Drive back to Kathmandu (1,400 m).~ 7-8 hours drive

More Information

Meals:
When you travel to the new place for your holiday, food is concern able part of travel. While, traveling with Yarsa treks, you can experience the delightful cuisine of typical Nepali food, continental food, Italian food, Chinese food and different international cuisine. You will be suggested by your guide for good food during your trip. During the trek do not order many dishes and waste food, they have to cater more trekkers before they run off stuck. It is very hard and takes week or more for caravan and porter to brings the food in these places. You will take lunch in route side, breakfast and dinner will arrange in the same lodge/Tea house.

Drinking Water:
During the trek you can get the bottled water but it is hard to dispose plastic and it will be the big problem for environment. We will provide purified mineral water during trek. In tea house you can get bottle water and mineral water in additional cost. It will better to drink mineral water rather than bottled water.

Accommodations:
We provide you best touristic hotel in Kathmandu with best location. During the trek tea house/home stay is main accommodation for trekkers. A tea house/home stay is combination of lodge and restaurant. In the tea house lodge are fairly basic, some tea house/home stay you can get separate room but in the high altitude rooms are spare with two beds with blanket and little additional furniture.  There will be large dining room where you can get the warm by Bukhara stove. In the tea house/home stay there will be the solar electricity but these days most of the tea house/home stay have electricity for charge Camera, Mobile phones and other small appliances.

Things to take:
This is very active trip we can’t stay in same place. You can take very light and necessary things. You will get porter he will carry maximum 30 kg it means 2 trekkers=1 porter. Porters are allowed to carry maximum 30 kg of your stuff. Porter will carry your necessary stuff in duffel bag.

Altitude Map & Route Map:
Yarsa Treks will provide you complete route map and altitude map. At the end of the trip we will provide you Yarsa Treks T-shirt for the memory of trekking with us.

Health & Fitness:
These treks are some of moderate and some of strenuous, passionate trekkers should have ability to walk for 4-7 hours a day. Trekking to the high altitude is more challenging than the low altitude. To complete the trip we have good health, average physical fitness, passionate, confidence, determination and positive attitude. If you have past hiking experience or exercising habits it will be the better for your trek. If you have pre-existing health problem such as lung, heart and other diseases it is better to consult with your doctor or inform Yarsa treks before booking the trip.

Suitable Time to Trek:
For Trekking to the high altitude we should concern about the weather condition. Autumn (Sept-Nov) and spring (March-May) is the best season for trekking in Himalayas. Trekking in summer and Monsoon (June-Aug) is affected by rain. You can also trek in winter but tempters could be most harsh for most trekkers.

Important notes:
If you’re confused to pack up your necessary things just see in the check list tab. Bring light and necessary things. You will need medium size bag to carry your daily usable stuff. The weather is subject to change in high altitude so layered clothing is recommended throughout the trek.

Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,610 m).
Today early morning drive from Kathmandu to Sybrubesi. The road continues to this beautiful village at the foot of the mountains where your journey begins. Overnight at a local lodge.

Day 02: Trek from Syabrubesi to Gatlang (2,238 m) via view point.
We start after an early breakfast on this experience rich trek. After an hour and half of ascent from Sybrubesi we reach the view point from where we can see the fantastic view of Ganesh Himal, Gosainkunda range and the Goljang valley. Rest overnight.

Day 03: Trek from Gatlang to Tatopani (2,607 m).
Today we start our trek after an early breakfast on this experience rich trek. After an hour and half of ascent from Sybrubesi we reach the view point from where we can see the fantastic view of Ganesh Himal, Gosainkunda range and the Goljang valley. Rest overnight at Tatopani.

Day 04: Trek from Tatopani to Thuman (2,338 m).
Today we trek ascending to Nagthali Danda at 3300 m. One can enjoy the view and spend some time at the top accompanied by tea prepared by the care taker of the Gompa. Trek continues down to Thuman. Rest overnight.

Day 05: Trek from Thuman to Briddim (2,239 m).
Trail descend t and we will have lunch at Timure. This is the old trade route to Tibet. Tibet boarder is 3 hours walk away from Timure. After lunch we walk to reach another Tamang village Briddim.  In Briddim we stay at home stay accommodation where we will intimate with family and have dinner with family. During the home stay you will have local food such as plain rice, Tibetan bread, Syakpa (Sherpa stew), Tibetan tea, local brew etc. Host family will take care of your all activities in as like you are close familiar member. Here you can get the opportunity to intimate with local Tamang people. You can experience their lifestyle, culture, custom, traditional songs and dances. Explore around and rest overnight.

Day 06: Trek from Briddim to Syabrubesi.
After breakfast, the trek descends down to Sybrubesi which is just 3hrs walk from Briddim. Lunch and rest of the day is free. Explore around and rest overnight at Syabrubesi.

Day 07: Drive back to Kathmandu (1,400 m).
Early morning breakfast and drive back to Kathmandu (8-9hrs). We drive through foothills and ridge line with the spectacular scenery of green valley, cultivated field with the mountains view. Rest overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
