Nepal a Himalayan kingdom is blessed with eight of the 14 highest mountains in the world including the world Highest Mt. Everest (8,848 m.) and 1310 peaks above 6,000 meter. This fact makes Nepal ideal destination for peak climbers and mountaineer all across the world. Today one third of these peaks are officially opened for the climbers. There are also some trekking peaks to climb which ranges from 5,587 to 6657 meter above the sea level fit for those who wants to enjoy climbing. The northern part of the country is entirely dominated by mighty Himalayas the range running from east to west direction of the country. Himalaya was formed by lifting of the Eurasian plate when Indian plate collided with Eurasian plate some 50 million years ago. Due to this collision the Eurasian plate thrust folded and lifter to form Himalayas which is the youngest range of mountain in world. This Himalaya has always been heart for those adventure seekers who wants to gain outstanding achievement in world of climbing and mountaineering.

Nepal mountaineering Association (NMA) has taken the authority to issue permits for climbing small scale peaks since, 1978. Peak climbing in Nepal offers ample of climbing opportunities to experience as well as new climbers. Peak climbing is one of the challenging activities in Nepal which require physical fitness and some climbing experience. Peak climbing in Nepal requires basic mountaineering experience above tree line and requires ice boots, rope, ice axe, crampons and personal climbing guide. Island Peak Climbing

Island peak also called Imja Tse at an altitude of (6,189 meter/ 20,305 ft.) is one of the challenging climbing. Island peak is one of the majestic peak in Everest region. Island peak climbing is generally non-technical peak climbing however requires some snow climbing skills and good physical fitness.

Mera Peak Climbing

Mera peak (6,476 meter/21,250 ft.) is one of the most spectacular mountain in Khumbu region. Mera Peak is becoming more and more popular day by day. Pokalde Peak

Pokalde peak at 5,806 meter is one of the lowest elevation trekking peak lying in Everest region of Nepal. This peak was first climbed from its North-ridge along the route from Kongma La in 1953. The peak looks stunning from the villages of Lobuche and Pheriche. Pokalde peak rises above the Kogma La (5,535 m.).
